【RICHARD MILLE】“A Work of Art on the Wrist” RM68-01 Graffiti Tourbillon

This newly introduced tourbillon timepiece is the result of a collaboration with Brazilian graffiti artist Cyril Kongo. The movement bridges mimic the expressive strokes of street graffiti, presented in various angles and forms. Vibrant base colors and graffiti motifs can be seen across the movement components, seamlessly blending mechanical craftsmanship with visual art.

The watch features a slightly reinterpreted tonneau-shaped case, entirely constructed from Grade 5 titanium, paired with an NTPT carbon bezel and a black ceramic ring. The two arrow-shaped hands follow a naturally flowing curved profile, while the tourbillon mechanism is positioned at 6 o’clock.

To execute graffiti on such intricate movement components, Cyril Kongo spent over a year experimenting with tools and materials. Using a specially designed spray technique that releases only microscopic droplets, he precisely controls the weight of the paint to ensure it does not affect the balance or functionality of the movement. The specially formulated pigments adhere perfectly to the titanium surfaces, remaining unaffected by assembly or disassembly and never fading over time.

The watch is powered by an RM tourbillon movement with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of 48 hours. Through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement baseplate reveals a radiant graffiti pattern that spreads outward from the center, evoking the visual effect of paint splashed across a wall.
