BLS introduces its latest release featuring a full ceramic construction inspired by the newest Omega Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” series.
Ceramic is an inorganic non-metallic material formed through high-temperature firing, widely appreciated in modern watchmaking for its exceptional physical properties and distinctive appearance. Compared to stainless steel, ceramic is significantly lighter while offering excellent scratch resistance, wear resistance, anti-magnetic properties, low allergenic reaction, and strong chemical stability.
This model features a 44.25mm full black ceramic case paired with a blackened movement. Using advanced laser ablation technology, the movement bridges are engraved to recreate the realistic surface texture of the moon, paying tribute to the legendary contribution of the Speedmaster to the Apollo 8 mission.
Through the black anodized aluminum skeletonized dial, the near side of the moon — the side visible from Earth — can be clearly observed. Meanwhile, the case back reveals the mysterious “Dark Side of the Moon,” representing the far side only witnessed by astronauts.
The watch is fitted with a black perforated rubber strap featuring a striking yellow rubber lining for added visual contrast. The entire timepiece is crafted in black ceramic, complemented by a central chronograph seconds hand finished in bright yellow lacquer.
The bezel features laser-engraved tachymeter markings filled with white enamel, enhancing readability and sporty aesthetics.
A particularly distinctive detail is found in the small seconds hand, crafted from grade 5 titanium in the shape of the iconic Saturn V rocket. This three-dimensional design is produced using laser turning technology and finished through a combination of white lacquer application, laser ablation, and laser blackening processes, creating impressive layered color effects and technical artistry.
