Equipped with the integrated RMUL2 movement and a slim case design, the Richard Mille RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Ultimate Edition stands as a high-performance sports timepiece.
First introduced in 2014, the RM 61-01 Yohan Blake was inspired by Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake, a renowned figure in track and field. Designed specifically for athletic performance, it represents a luxury sports watch built for extreme conditions. The Ultimate Edition, released in 2020, marks the final piece of this model line and its unique series.
The case is a major highlight, featuring an asymmetrical design. It is extended from the 2 o’clock to 5 o’clock side, creating a “narrow-left, wide-right” profile. This design is not merely aesthetic—it prevents friction between the crown and the wrist during sprinting.
Another key feature is the use of advanced materials. The bezel and caseback are made from Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT® composite materials. The manufacturing process is highly complex: ultra-thin silica layers are immersed in white resin, layered with carbon fiber, then subjected to high-pressure heating at 120°C. The material is then machined, resulting in unique, random patterns—making each watch one of a kind.
The case is assembled using grade 5 titanium spline screws and stainless steel washers, ensuring water resistance up to 50 meters.
The crown is made of Carbon TPT® and features an O-ring sealing system to prevent accidental operation during movement.
It is fitted with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal for enhanced clarity.
The RM 61-01 Ultimate Edition is powered by the RMUL2 skeletonized manual-winding movement, offering approximately 55 hours of power reserve.
