Richard Mille has partnered with world-renowned tennis player Rafael Nadal to introduce this astonishing new creation — the RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal. Exceptionally lightweight, the watch is capable of withstanding accelerations of up to 14,000 g, making it the lightest and most robust tourbillon watch ever created.
This RM 27-05 took five years to develop and features a brand-new carbon fiber composite material called Carbon TPT® B.4. Compared to standard Carbon TPT®, this advanced material offers a 4% increase in density, 15% greater fiber rigidity, and 30% stronger resin. Its anisotropic structure is optimized to maintain extreme lightness while delivering unmatched toughness and the highest shock resistance ever achieved in the series.
The watch uses a PMMA ultra-light polymer crystal instead of traditional sapphire, significantly reducing weight while improving transparency and anti-glare performance.
The fully openworked dial reveals a distinctive geometric mechanical aesthetic — V-shaped bridges and the tourbillon structure create a bold visual impact. The skeletonized barrel displays the winding status directly, with the winding gear train positioned at 2 o’clock and the gear system at 8 o’clock forming a perfectly layered connection.
