This new release from GR Factory represents a three-year development effort dedicated to recreating the full-function perpetual calendar mechanical movement of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master series. Built on the principle of no compromise in time and cost, it uses an imported 9015 base movement to replicate the integrated complex functions of the original 868 movement, with all features designed to match official functionality.
Perpetual Calendar Function
A hidden push button located at the 8 o’clock position allows adjustment of the calendar and annual cycle via month settings. The perpetual calendar year display operates normally, facilitating smoother module operation. The year display ranges from 2024 to 2029, making module replacement and adjustment more convenient.
Calendar, Week, and Month Functions
Date sub-dial at 3 o’clock:
Pulled to the first position, clockwise rotation advances the date, while counterclockwise rotation moves it backward (reverse adjustment is not recommended as it may affect the moonphase system).
Week sub-dial at 9 o’clock:
Pulled to the second position, adjusted by reverse rotation in coordination with the 24-hour time setting.
Month sub-dial at 6 o’clock:
Adjusted via the hidden 8 o’clock push button, with a dedicated adjustment tool included.
Each function is independently adjustable, making daily operation more practical when worn.
Warning Indicator Window
Located above the central axis of the dial, a sector-shaped indicator displays system status.
White zone: safe for manual year adjustment
Blue zone: restricted adjustment period; changing the year during this phase may affect movement longevity
This is not a defect but a structural characteristic of the 868/1-style complex movement, consistent with the original design.
Moonphase Function
The moonphase display at 12 o’clock completes one full cycle every 30 days, enabling true moonphase tracking. It can be adjusted via the first pulled crown position with reverse rotation, solving the issue of independent moonphase correction.
A detailed instruction card is included to simplify operation and adjustment for users.
Exterior and Construction Details
While function is the focus, exterior accuracy is equally important:
Case construction uses 316L stainless steel matching the original specifications
Each component is CNC-machined individually to replicate authentic finishing
Maintains a 39mm case size with a thickness of approximately 10mm, balancing complexity and wearability
Dial recreation strictly follows original proportions:
Applied hour markers are molded solid indices with strong depth and gloss
Three sub-dials are recessed in the same configuration as the original
Moonphase and calendar windows feature pronounced layered depth
Logo and markers are slightly raised for a more realistic visual effect
Dial coloration is carefully matched to the original tone
Hands and Finishing
The watch uses dauphine-style hands, a signature design of Jaeger-LeCoultre:
Half brushed, half polished finishing
Hour and seconds hands feature a subtle bent profile
Heat-treated blued steel hands for a deeper, purer blue tone
GR Factory’s work reflects a continuous process of refinement aimed at faithfully reproducing the complexity and aesthetic appeal of this Master Perpetual Calendar watch, allowing enthusiasts to experience its mechanical charm in a closely replicated form.
