V7 Factory proudly presents the Ingenieur Engineer series recommended model MT3, a refined interpretation of IWC’s iconic design language.
The bracelet features CNC-machined polished edges on the sides of each link (at the joint corners), ensuring smooth alignment and a highly consistent finish. The inner bezel details are finely executed, and the fork plate width measures 5.5mm, enhancing structural precision and visual balance.
In 2023 at Watches & Wonders Geneva, IWC introduced the new-generation Ingenieur, designed by Gérald Genta, reviving the classic Ref. 1832 design from the 1970s.
The 40mm case combines vertical brushing, circular brushing, and polished surfaces, creating a softer and more fluid silhouette. The case thickness is 10.7mm.
The bezel is secured by five screws, while the redesigned lugs and H-shaped bracelet are ergonomically optimized for a more comfortable wrist fit.
The most distinctive feature of the new model is the recreated “grid” dial pattern from the original Ingenieur SL. The pattern is formed by stamping a soft iron base plate, creating an embossed texture that is then treated with electroplating. The grid consists of intersecting fine lines, covering the central dial area, while the outer minute track remains smooth for contrast. The IWC logo placement and proportions are carefully aligned with the grid structure to ensure visual harmony. Luminous markers ensure readability in low-light conditions.
The dial adopts a three-hand layout, with vintage-inspired hour markers and seconds hand design. A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, while “INGENIEUR” appears at 6 o’clock.
It is paired with a newly developed original-style quick-release steel bracelet. CNC finishing is applied to the side edges of each link to ensure smooth transitions and precise alignment. All structural details closely follow the original, delivering near-identical materials, craftsmanship, and wearing comfort.
Powered by a Sea-Gull 2892-based movement modified to an ETA 35111-style automatic rotor, it offers stable performance and durability, with exterior detailing closely matching the Swiss version.
This V7 Factory release is now available, offering a refined and faithful interpretation of the classic Ingenieur design.
